How the Hair Crafters Team describes Ron: Enjoys his craft, motivated go-getter, zealous, warm-hearted, good boss and manager, phenomenal educator, continuous learner, kind-hearted and cool.
Following in his older brother Bob’s footsteps, Ron became a barber in 1965. When men started growing out their hair in the 70’s, Ron began focusing on hair styling, women’s haircuts and regional hair competitions, of which he won quite a few! His skills evolved into becoming a national and international educator for Zotos International and he traveled extensively learning and teaching the newest hair styles, perms and trends. He opened Hair Crafters in 1976 and for over four decades, Ron has used his creative energy to teach and mentor each stylist at Hair Crafters, while for five decades he has never stopped enjoying cutting hair. His precision cuts blend and grow out perfectly; and his talent lives on in all those he has taught. When Ron is not behind the chair, his passions include being a part of Downtown South Bend Rotary, the Studebaker National Museum, a mentor in the South Bend Community School Corporation and participating and giving back to the community as much as he can. He enjoys long bike rides, hikes in the woods and exploring the world on as many travel adventures as possible. Ron and his wife/business partner Betty, have three daughters and nine grandchildren.
